I chose teaching because I love to see that “light bulb moment” when a child understands what I am explaining. I also enjoy the classroom atmosphere of learning.


  • 1991 – Graduated Valedictorian from Gueydan High School
  • 1996 – Bachelor’s degree from USL (now UL-Lafayette)
  • 2011 – Master’s degree from McNeese State University
  • UL Math and Science Partnership (MSP) grant participant
  • Prior to teaching, I was a legal secretary for 13 years.
  • I began my teaching career in 2008 at Mount Carmel Elementary where I taught fifth and sixth grade.
  • I then taught second grade at LeBlanc Elementary.
  •  I moved to Eaton Park Elementary where I taught third and fifth grade. In 2013, I transferred to Erath Middle where I hope to be for a very long time!
  • School facilitator for the Dow "You Be The Chemist" Challenge
  • Former EMS 6th grade level Jr. Beta sponsor
  • EMS Student Council co-sponsor


  • I was born and raised in Gueydan, Duck Capital of America
  • I am married to Scott.
  • We have lived in Erath for over 20 years
  • We have two children – Grant and Olivia
  • I like to read, fish, mow grass, and spend time with family and friends.
