Tanna Spotlight

Using right triangles, they carefully drew this geometric spiral step by step. As they added each new triangle, whose side lengths follow the Pythagorean theorem, they began to see the spiral grow outward in a precise and fascinating pattern.

Students then connected the spiral to the number line, relating the length of each triangle’s hypotenuse to numerical values. This connection helped them visualize square roots on a number line. Through this activity, students deepened their understanding of the Pythagorean theorem and number relationships - all while having fun collaborating and exploring math hands-on!
